The concept of Matheku Mountain Resort (MMR) has its roots deep in the heart of Zululand, the soul of the Zulu nation and in the heart of its founder Bheki Vilakazi. MMR has at its core the need to reawaken the land and its people and revitalise the indomitable spirit of the Zulu culture: Moving all three forward into the 21st century with a message of hope and peace that will inspire the local community, South Africans and tourists alike. The pride and energies of the early Zulu people must be re-awakened and transformed to bring peace, wealth, harmony and abundance to the area. Interest in the history of the area and its peoples will be promoted locally, nationally and internationally. With the draw card being that the ground on which the Resort is situated (an authentic heritage site) has as much meaning to the Zulu people as Buckingham palace does to the British, or the Black Mountains of Dakota has to the Native American people. MMR is designed to form a focal point from which other projects may be spring boarded into the rural areas of KZN and the other parts of the community. From the basic plan outlined, sufficient return on Investment will be generated to bring a percentage upliftment in earning potential in the Bhekeshowe area and a suitable return for the investor.
